Question: I am a 66 year old female with Von Willebrands disease 2A. I am currently experiencing pain below my breasts, a little tingling in my right are. Also, when I take a deep breath my lungs are tender. I have degenerative arthritis in my neck and back and take hydrocodone and tizandine. I was thinking that a person with Von Willebrands disease would probably not have a heart attack because my blood does not clot. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Low probability of cardiovascular disease in von willebrand deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
The studies show that the risk of cardiovascular disease in persons with von willebrand deficiency is much lower than in those without deficiency.
Also this risk varies from many factors like sex, age, body weight ect.
I don't think your symptoms are those of a heart attack. I think these symptoms come from degenerative arthritis of neck and back. This may show a worsening of disease and comes from the pinched spinal nerves.

Hope I have answered the question.
