Question: I am a diabetic. Type II - insulin dependent. The past few days my afternoon sugars have been lower than normal (between 44 and 90). I have decreased my Humalog and eaten a few extra cards. I am at 96 just now and have the strongest smell of acetone on my breath. I see my endocrinologist tomorrow. Should I be concerned between now and then? I feel ok except for being a bit dizzy

Dear sir, type 2 should not trouble you much with Ketosis, but still if it is happening, there are few tips.
1. keep yourself sufficiently hydrated. 3 litres of fluid, per day
2. do not stop insulin, may be reduce the dose if required
3. frequent monitoring of sugars, every two hrly.
4. get complete work up , find out infection if any, cause of hypoglycemia
5. see your doctor
