I Am A Diabetic And Iwant To Lose A Lot

Question: I am a diabetic and Iwant to lose a lot of weight. Is a ketosis diet ok for me?
Brief Answer:
Not good...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is important for a diabetic individual to cut down calories and carbs are rich sources of calories. However in the absence of any or minute carbohydrates, it is difficult to control blood sugar. Therefore I don't think a keto diet is good for you. Unless you have a doctor who can supervise the diet and blood sugar, I would not recommend you try keto diet.
If you are trying to loose weight, which is a good thing, I would suggest you try the conventional diet and exercise changes. You may also consider metformin tablets. By lowering insulin resistance it's good for blood sugar management. It also helps in reducing weight. Discuss with your treating doctor.
Regards
