I Am A Man Who Has Been Battling Trichomoniasis For
Question: I am a man who has been battling trichomoniasis for about 10 years now. I get treated with antibiotics. After time passes and no sex,symptoms return and I have testicular atrophy. The discharge is minor but present. But the pain in the testicles is consistent to the point I have learned to live with it. I'm tired of dealing with this. Can you help? I'm thinking the doses of antibiotics is not enough and I need alot to drown the parasite.i feel like after I take the meds I have a sole surviving parasite who reproduces all over again.

If you used metronidazole 2gr as a single dose you can be treated with metronidazole 500 mg orally twice daily for 7 days. If this treatment fails your doctor may consider treatment with metronidazole or tinidazole at 2 g orally for 7 days.

Will my testicles atrophy return to normal size? Is there anything I can do for my testicles to get bigger?
Sometimes I will go get tested with symptoms of discharge and pain and will have a negative test result. Is it possible that I am clean but still have symptoms because I have been battling it for so long? At one point I went years without seeing a dr and just dealt with it. Do you think I have perminant scaring?

If you have testicular atrophy you should get tested doing hormonal tests and testicular ultrasound.
You can get tested even for other sexually transmitted diseases.
If you have a discharge you should do a culture of urethral secretions.
Permanent scaring can be caused by if you are having untreated sexual infections.
