I Am Afraid I Have Pancreas Cancer I Got A Blood Test Result Of 67u/l Lipase Level
Question: hi I got a blood test result of 67u/l lipase level, I am afraid I have pancreas cancer. I am a 22 year old male who has overall normal test results and health. Other symptoms I have is abnormal stool and light colored stool and slight upper right abdominal pain.
Brief Answer:
Cholecystitis
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but your test result is within the normal range but as the lab reference says up to 58 U I then I would recommend that you get an ultrasound abdomen to exclude cholecystitis which could be the reason for elevated lipase and abnormal stools.. Cholecystitis is inflammation of the gall bladder.. However, tumors of the pancreas are very unlikely at your age.. I hope you find this helpful. If you don’t have any other clarifications then please close the discussion.

I made a mistake. I have upper left abdominal pain. Would this still be Cholecystitis?
67 u/l blood test is within the normal range?
Primary diagnosed IBS is this accurate, can IBS cause slightly elevated lipase?

Brief Answer:
Further testing needed
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, hello again..
I would recommend that you get a blood test for blood glucose levels, amylase level and lipid profile along with an ultrasound abdomen to exclude pancreatitis.. If these test results came back normal then there is no need to worry.
I hope you find this helpful.
