I Am Age 8 Years Have Been Diagnosed By Hypothyroid

Most common is primary hypothyroidism
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for asking on this platform
I can understand your concern.
There are so many causes of hypothyroidism in children.
I would like to know
What are the problems the child is suffering from that means why the thyroid test was done?
What is the report? Levels of T3, T4, TSH
Most common in this age is primary hypothyroidism. That is due to poorly formed thyroid gland. This gets undetected since birth.
Sometimes there can be new onset of disease that is most likely due to autoimmune.
Other cause can be central hypothyroidism where other hormonal glandss are also involved.
Iodine deficiency can also cause hypothyroidism.
A detailed investigation is needed to find out the cause.
The treatment remains same for almost all.
The prognosis is not good for primary congenital hypothyroidism if it is detected late.
The prognosis depends on the cause of hypothyroidism.
I would request you to provide the details so that I better able to help you out.
Regards
In most of the cases with treatment

No need to worry, values are within normal range
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for follow up
I have seen the reports and all the values are within normal limit.
In some cases doctor starts the medication when there is suspicion of hypothyroidism based on clinical features with borderline values of serum T3, T4, TSH
Based on this report I don't find any reason to start the medication.
Please feel free to ask if you have any more doubts.
Regards
