Question: I am an active 40 year old female swimmer, cyclist, and enjoy lifting weights. I was told by my chiro that I have 50 percent tear of the infraspinatus. Should I attempt pt or go have it repaired

You have a 50% thickness tear of infraspinatous tendon. As you are an active swimmer and a weight lifter it is best to go for a surgical repair. The repair can be done arthroscopically. It will help in the early recovery. Physiotherapy may help in healing but might result in a chronic partially healed tendon.
