Question: I am asking for my 12 year old son. He is complaining of stomach pain. He says it hurts him when he moves. The pain comes and goes. Sometimes it isn%E2%80%99t as bad as before when it comes back. I have tried heating pads, advil, stretching his legs (thinking it%E2%80%99s gas), and walking. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn%E2%80%99t. Would it be constipation, gas, pulled muscle or something more serious? He went on a camping trip last weekend and hiked two mountains in two days. He has never done it before. He has been complaining of this for 2 days now.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the abdomen pain appearance at times with history of
hiking trip indicate intestine infection most likely either via water or food consumption
out of his casuals.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Pain - location in abdomen, type, radiation if any where, association with food intake ?
2. Associated vomiting, nausea, alteration in bowel habits, fever ?

Awaiting for your response.
