I Am Being Feeling A Little Odd Like Something Is

default

Question: I am being feeling a little odd like something is off, for the past month a half, stomach pain and alternating periods of feeling constipated and diarrea . I did a few exams with my GP such as blood exam and urinalysis. Blood exam turned out fine, i can attach the results in this email. Urinalysis detected a crystal (Calcium Oxalate), so we decided to do a CT scan to see if i had kidney stones or appendicitis.
I am going to attach the CT scan to this report, the only thing off was a questionable thickening of the urinary bladder.
i get abdominal/ stomach (not sure how to distinguish) cramps varying location. It usually comes it will hurt for a few seconds and will go away (moderate pain).
No blood visible in my stool, no fever, no vomiting, no loss of appetite , except when i got called after i did a ct scan that the GP wanted to see me, which i believe it was due to the stress of something being detected. My stool however has been floating for the most parts. I feel like is not the same quantity as before either and will be somewhat broken pieces with no border.
What should i do next? I scheduled an appt with a GI the soonest was available and still it will take almost 3 months to happen. Is there anything i should watch out in the meantime? I am afraid it could be some serious problem such as colon cancer, and the waiting could lead to an increase of the tumor or something else.

Thanks for taking the time to read my question and address my concern.

Hello and thanks for choosing 'Ask A Doctor' service for your query,

You seemed to be suffering from two problems:

1) Cystitis of the gall bladder which means that there is inflammation in walls of the bladder. This inflammation results in irritation of nerves passing through it and hence causing pain. Very likely in most of the cases it's associated with bacterial infection namely Escherichia coli however in your case there is an abnormal presence of calcium oxalate crystals which suggests that the inflammation could be a result of inflammation caused by calcium oxalate crystals (acts as an irritant).
Levels of calcium in the blood are managed by a hormone named parathormone. I would suggest you get you parathormone levels checked up.

Usually, the early 20s is not a common age for cancer of intestines. Secondly, any tumor is associated with a sudden and drastic change in BOWEL habits, Pain and blood would be severe and the symptoms would keep increasing on a daily basis.

Floating stools are suggestive generally of too much gas in intestines. Gas, when absorbed by feces, make it light and hence it floats. Unless the stool is greasy or mucous in nature or is foul-smelling or is associated with a drastic loss of weight it makes no sense clinically.

Suggestion: just add some Ispaghula husk. It's a bulk-forming agent and adds bulk and shape to your stools. Buy the unflavoured original one called psyllium husk not the one manufactured processed and contains tons of sugar for taste. Keep it in lukewarm water for 10 minutes and have 10 gram of it thrice daily.

Along with it, a probiotic like Econorm should be taken three times a day. This would deplete the good flora of the gut and would help to improve digestion and feces formation.

As off now rest assured chance of it being a cancer tumor etc are almost negligible.
Just follow the advice above and report how you feel after a week or two.
For pain, any antispasmodic anti-inflammatory like Mefenamic acid can be taken for a few days(can be requested by your GP).

Hope I was helpful,
Follow-ups are welcome.
Thank you
