Gingivitis and glossitis, rule out diabetes and GI problems.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history well and understood the concerns.
The infection that causes sore throat, lots of mucus, fatigue can also affect the mucosa of oral cavity.
The disturbed gastrointestinal (GI) flora also can cause such a problem.
This is called gingivitis and glossitis.
It is also needed to see what caused this and what are the aftermaths like whether have oral thrush that is fungal infection or so on.
The management can be done by the following ways:
Take a probiotic.
Multivitamins, minerals and trace elements along with Folic acid can help recover faster and better.
Continue the treatment as advised by your Doctor after showing him the oral cavity to know the exact cause of your sensitive gums and tongue.
May need local anti-fungal oral application if there is thrush.
Use less toothpaste and any other things that cause burning as it causes more trauma to the already diseased mucosa.
You may please take sips of water frequently as it helps self cleaning also and helps maintain hydration.
Avoid too hot or too cold foods and beverages.
Try for liquid diet.
Please check your blood sugars.
You may please post clear and focused photos of tongue and gums if possible, as it helps sometimes to know the cause of symptoms.
I hope this answers your query, helps you.
Please feel free to give feedback, ask further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
With Regards.
Dr T Chandrakant.
