I Am Concerned That I Might Have MS. 2 Years

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Dec 2020
Question: I am concerned that I might have MS. 2 years ago, I lost vision and had pain in my left eye. I was diagnosed with optic neuritis and had two MRI's done (with and without contrast). Both came out clear. My vision returned a few weeks later. About a week ago I started feeling tingly on my fingers and feeling some legs aches as well. I am worried about MS as I was told by my doctor that there is a higher chance of getting MS once you have contracted Optic Neuritis.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms do no seem to be related to MS

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms do not seem to be related to MS. The clear MRI can help in excluding this diagnosis.
I recommend to do a neurological examination by a neurologist to exclude completely MS.
There are many other medical conditions related to your symptoms.
One of the common causes can be a deficiency of vitamin B12.
I recommend to check the vitamin B12 through a blood test.
I also recommend avoiding stress on the daily basis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards!
