I Am Having A Colonoscopy On Wednesday. My Doctor Uses

propofol absolutely safe , with certain conditions in which it is avoided.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.
* As per my surgical experience, the propofol is highly safe molecule used
for minor sedation in hospital set up for any day care procedure as
colonoscopy or others.
However, there are certain specific situations, where your anesthetic would like to avoid use of Propofol as
- known allergy to Propofol
- low blood pressure via volume depleted states as hypovolemia or else
- central nervous system disorders as clots in the brain
- convulsion disorders
Otherwise in a normal physically fit individual , it is absolutely safe to be used in expert hands without hesitation or panic.
However, with your previous experience of the colonoscopy, you have all rights to undergo colonoscopy without sedation as well and avoid use of Propofol during the procedure.
Wish you best procedure.
Regards.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the follow up.
There are no documented interactions of Propofol with Dilantin and as you have no seizures in recent past, there is no threat in using Propofol in your case.
Do feel free to ask any further doubts.
Wish you a great day.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
There are certain anesthetics even opting help of music therapy for complex brain surgeries without general anesthesia where the neurosurgeon wants to check per op functioning of brain centers and anesthetic wants to avoid major risks.
Can discuss some sort of such possibility with your doc for your procedure too
where you may not need anesthesia and also do not feel pain.
Thank you.
