Question: I am having bumps on back side of tongue near the throat for the last one week causing some inconvenience in swallowing. No irritation and no pain.

Thanks for the query.
As per your description it seems like enlarged papilla(taste buds) of the papilla.
It is harmless condition and generally settle by itself.
As of now you can do warm saline gargles for faster recovery.
Avoid irritating foods like spicy foods.
Generally it will settle in couple of weeks.

It has been like this for more than a week. I am already gargling with warm saline water. Please suggest some tablets to use in case if the problem persists or aggravates.

Hi,
In most cases it will settle by itself.
You can apply over the counter available mouth creams like triamcinolone for symptomatic relief. Antacids like pantoprazole can also be tried.
