I Am Having Chest Discomfort . More To Very Top
Possible muscular pain, kindly asked for few more information
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service.
Chest discomfort can be caused by many factors and having some more information will help better determine which is the cause in your case. By what you explain it seems to be muscular related but please let me know of the following to make sure:
- for how long have you had the pain?
- what kind of pain is it? Burning, pressure, sharp pain?
- do you have other symptoms with it? Any cough, shortness of breath, heart pounding or fever?
- do you have any tummy ache? Any nausea or vomiting?
Meanwhile I would recommend you to take some ibuprofen 600 mg every 6-8 hours after food together with the Tylenol you are already taking.
Some Omeprazole (20 mg of it 30 minutes before breakfast) might be helpful to prevent stomach problems from high dose ibuprofen and is advisable to take while you use ibuprofen.
If you notice no improvement with this in a day or two or if there is any worsening you will need to see your doctor to have a check of your lungs and heart.
Let me know of the above information so I can be of better help to you. Waiting to hear from you.

Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
