Possible causes and further treatment and follow up recommended below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

I carefully read your query and here is my advice: groin pain that is associated with tingling and a pulling sensation in the thing and lower leg is probably not related to an infection in the groin area.
It is mostly a nerve being pinched that causes a change in sensation (tingling and burning) that is spread down the leg. Generally, this is due to a pinched nerve in the lower back. Tight muscles may also cause similar burning pains that may affect the legs as well. Rarely problems with deep veins may cause similar symptoms but is generally associated with swelling as well.

To conclude:
- You may take pain killers regularly next 1-2 weeks. I would advise you to take paracetamol 500 mg and Ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours after food (to protect the stomach). These should help with both nerve and muscular pain
- If the pain is not released in a week or you notice any worsening or you develop leg swelling, bluish or red discoloration of the skin of the leg, or any new symptoms you will need to see your doctor again.
- if you already have any swelling or redness or bluish discoloration in the leg you will need to see your doctor urgently to have a doppler ultrasound of the legs and rule out thrombosis

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,

Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
