Question: I am having muscle spasms or tremors that occur in three different places but not at the same time. This has been going on for over a week. It occurs in my left biceps, just above my right knee, and in my abdomen a few inches below my navel. The spasms can last from a few seconds to several minutes at a time. What is going on and is it serious?

Brief Answer:
could be minor problem or deficiency of nutrients.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have read the question . These tremors or spasms are , in my opinion muscle twitching's or muscle fasciculations , which can occur in a normal person without any reason or sometimes a specific cause.
Sometimes they do occur as a sign of irritable muscles like in electrolyte imbalance or certain vitamin deficiency like vitamin B12,, Vitamin D or calcium deficiency.
If they are not bothering you, then just forget about them. but I do suggest a check up of vitamin levels , electrolytes and calcium.
The treatment depends on the cause. Generally they are self limiting and do not require any treatment.
Thanks for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
