No Trauma, But did have bad cough
The pain is dull unless move to sit up, lay down, bend over then changes to a sharp piercing deep down right under left breast, Like halfway under breast, halfway underneath breast.
Yes, deep breaths hurt and its sore sometimes, but pressure can also lower pain.
Have had several test, none showed problems
Do have history of difficult breathing since had lymph node cancer.
I hope that answers your questions.
One other tidbit on it is it has been happening for going on 3 days. Having trouble sleeping.

I'd recommend as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,
Thanks for the details...
Noted all the past and present history...

Well, this present symptoms could be due to Pleurisy (inflammation of the coverings of the lung due to some underlying respiratory tract infection or fluid accumulation or some other pathologies)...

First of all, a few investigations i.e. a hemogram, chest X-ray, sputum gram stain, cytology, culture sensitivity analysis should be performed. It's good that the previous tests showed no problems.

However, in this given scenario, since it's happening for the past 3 days, this few investigations should be done. Based on the findings, there may be a need to initiate antibiotics therapy. Please discuss this with your doctor and proceed further.

Meanwhile, please follow these bits of suggestions and observe how you stay:

-Start taking some steam inhalation twice to thrice daily, it'll help as a decongestant and ease the cough and clear the secretions/drainage...

-Smoking, (as you may already aware of), can only worsen the symptoms and should be stopped at the earliest...

-Please drink a lot of fluids, have plenty of warm liquids (soups, broth, porridge, hot menta tea etc.), they'll act as an immunity booster and fasten the recovery.

-Given your medical background, I wouldn't suggest strong pain-killers. However, you may take ACETAMINOPHEN 650mg (eg. Tylenol) up to thrice daily after some food for the next 3-4 days and observe the progress.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take Care
Kind Regards
