Question: I am having scalp itching, dandruff and hairfall continously since 2 years. At starting of the problem I lost upto 60% of my hair. Then took homoeopathy treatment for 6 months but didn't worked except homoeopathy jaborandi hair oil,it helped in growth of new hairs but hairfall, itching and dandruff was not treated by it. Now this oil is also not working as like before. I used medicated shampoo ketocip, but nothing is working on my scalp dandruff and itching. Roots are weakened, uprooted hairs have some small, rough ,white ball like structures at tip and scalp feel rough because of this

Brief Answer:
Regarding dandruff and hair loss

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

Dandruff does increase hair shedding. For stubborn dandruff I would suggest that you use a coal tar and salicylic acid based shampoo e.g either protar or salytar lotion. In addition i suggest you to use a topical steroid and salicylic acid based lotion e g clobetasol propionate 0.05% and salicylic acid 3-6% lotion, for overnight application. Yoi may take an oral antihistamine e.g cetirizine 10mg tablet once a day for symptomatic relief from itching. These are prescription medications that you need to use under guidance of your local doctor and with regular follow up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Brief Answer:
Regarding dandruff and hair fall

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

You could be having either Seborrheic dermatitis or Scalp psoriasis- the two most common causes of stubborn, thick, scaly dandruff. Hair fall is secondary to the dandruff.
A local doctor can prescribe after having a thorough look at it. You may take the suggested medicine for 2 weeks and then follow up. I can give you possibilities or likely diagnosis by online mode.

Take care. Let me know if you need any more assistance
