Slight sternum pressure with external throat pain can be caused by radiation pain from the heart problem, musculoskeletal, and sometimes caused by gastrointestinal problems.
How old are you? What kind of job do you have?
What is the onset and duration of each pain? You do not have trouble breathing, no difficulty swallowing and come and go, I would like to recommend an electrocardiogram (ECG) and see a doctor to do a physical examination to rule out any heart disease. More history is better for us to help.
I hope that can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Wish you good health.

I am 28, graphic designer so I sit most of the time.
The pain (sensation is probably a better term) will last steadily throughout a day. Normally not present when I wake up, and starts to come on as the morning progresses.
Will occasionally disperse throughout the day. I took some XXXXXXX seltzer earlier that seems to help it , but did cause some significant stomach discomfort and diarrhea. Perhaps unrelated but seems too timely to not be related. Who knows. As a type this , the discomfort seems to be returning a touch. Is gas in the chest a thing?
I suggest you better take PPI instead because it can help the pain from your GERD.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your clarification. That's good to hear that you get better from XXXXXXX Seltzer medicine. It seems that you have a gastrointestinal (stomach) problem. Yes, Gastroesophageal reflux (Gerd) can cause gas up to the chest. Because XXXXXXX seltzer contains aspirin that can cause stomach upset, I suggest you better take PPI instead because it can help the pain from your GERD.
Hope I have answered your query. If you do not need any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish you have good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.
