Question: I am looking for a very very low dose birth control option (not an iud) - but a combination pill. I know I need a little bit of estrogen - I had a baby five months back and was breastfeeding for four months and I was on the XXXXXXX pill - it did not make me feel good. I have not been able to lose any weight at all , in fact I’ve gained weight. Plus so tired. Plus low sex drive. I think a little estrogen would help me with this water weight, another thing that I really need. Please advise.

Ther are several low dose estrogen-containing pills available in the market like Yaz, Alesse, Lo Loestrin, etc. If these are not available, you can ask the chemist to give any combined contraceptive pill that contains 20 micrograms of estrogen or less.

With the small baby around you probably are getting overworked or may not be having enough sleep. Get some help at home. This will help you to relax.

You need to exercise regularly to reduce weight. If you can add half an hour of yoga to it daily, it will be very beneficial to you.
