Question: I am not an MD. - My wife had a collapsed womb and had a ring fitted 6 months ago. She is in no discomfort but was told that it needed to be checked or replaced in 6 months! Because of the current situation we are reluctant to visit the hospital. She is worried and needs assurance that she can put off the visit for several weeks as necessary.

As per your description it seems like your wife Js having uterine prolapse and something called “vaginal Pessary“ was inserted as a temporary measure.
Generally pessary has to be changed in every four to six months, otherwise it can cause vaginal discomfort or infection.
