Question: I am past menopause. Recently I had a procedure performed to address
inflammation in my back and was injected with a steroid. The steroid
was working up to 3 weeks after I got it and did help my back pain .
But I am spotting on and off for the past week. Is this possible after a steroid injection? I have not had any issues in that area and go to my OBGYN annually.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to steroid injection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns.
The intermittent spotting that you are having can be related to the local steroid injection in the back but usually it has minimal systemic effects. The spotting needs to be investigated and any cervical lesion or an endometrial polyp should be ruled out after a colposcopy and PAP smear specially if the spotting is heavy or persists beyond three weeks.
I hope this answers your query.
