I Am Pretty Sure I Tore My Bicep From My
Question: I am pretty sure i tore my bicep from my elbow, how long do i have to fix it? it was months ago. i notice a major lack of strength. Was fooling around and went to do a "flag pole" where you hold yourself straight out from a vertical pole with arm and ab strength. I felt a tear. now my muscle is noticeably shorter and weaker.
Brief Answer:
MRI scan can help in detecting.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached pictures. The shorter and weaker biceps can be due to mild tear and scarring in the area due to the tear. The exact cause can be detected only after an MRI scan of the area. Regular physiotherapy can help in gradual strengthening of the muscle.
I hope this answers your query.

so i should consult a local doctor ? If it has separated from the elbow would i be in more pain ? will it heal on its own if it is a mild tear ? what is your thought on my next step ?
Brief Answer:
Consult an orthopedician.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
This is likely to be a mild tear. Consulting a local doctor will not help. You need to consult an orthopedician. It is not likely to be completely torn. Rest and proper physiotherapy can help.
Hope my answer is helpful.
