I Am Suffering From A Continuous Dry Coughing

Dextromethorphan can help with cough
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
For a cough you have had less than a few weeks, this would most likely be from a virus, and so the treatment would be focused on helping with the cough until your body clears the infection. For this, you can try honey, a tablespoon mixed in with warm water or tea 3-4 times a day, which is safe and effective for cough. You can also use medication that has dextromethorphan in it, and finally, there is a medication that we sometimes use called benzonatate, but it may need a prescription or many not be available where you are. You can also use a medication that has guaifenesin to help break up the mucus.
Normally the cough would resolve over a couple of weeks, but if it were to persist or have other symptoms especially fever, you should be examined to make sure a more serious condition such as pneumonia is not developing.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Thanks.
