I Am Taking 20 Mg Of Lisinopril In The Morning
Over the past month I’ve been feeling chest pressure , having random arrhythmias never related to my yoga or palates work outs. I’m concerned that my BP is too high?
Your blood pressure is too high.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. I agree that your blood pressure is too high, the goal for your average blood pressure should be below 140/90, so you may need increase the lisinopril to 40mg or increase the metoprolol succinate to 100mg or more; I would discuss this with your doctor. Making sure that you cut out salt in your diet, and if you are overweight, losing weight can also help bring the blood pressure down.
However, your chest pressure and random arrhythmias would be a separate problem. I'm not sure what you mean by arrhythmias, whether you mean palpitations or something else, but it sounds like you should see your doctor soon about this, to at least get an EKG and possibly other testing (such as a treadmill stress test and/or heart monitor) to make sure that your heart is ok.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
