I Am Worried About Small Nodes In Neck

Question: Hi,

I had a fever and swollen lymph nodes (less than 1 cm)in neck 3 months back.

Fever lasted for 2-3 weeks and was in anitibiotics(monocef iv) in hospital.

After that and now I had no fever or any symptons.But now also I get small(in mm range) lymph nodes in neck.

Currently
a)I have no fever,no night sweat
b)no weight loss
c)no itching

Attaching,CT,fnac and other results taken 3 months back..

I am worried about small (mm)nodes in neck .Kindly advise

Dear Mr Sasi,
Thanks for your query.

The lymph nodes present in your body as such seem to be insignificant and possibly after fever they have come up. Cytology report is also not significant. Still to resolve your concern it is advisable to have excision biopsy of one of the significant neck nodes for histopathological examination. This will rule out if you are not suffering from any lympho-proliferative disorder.

Meantime is there any anti inflammatory tablets I can try before going for biopsy?..when surgeon checked for biopsy last time he couldn't take it as the lump got smaller ..

thanks for reverting.
there is no need to take any anti inflammatory drug. since lymph nodes have turned small they will further get smaller with pasage of time as i believe that it was reactionary lymph node enlargement. if there is really no significant palpable lymph node you can keep the biopsy also in abeyance. i would again wish to have your cbc with peripheral smear examination , a simple blood test.

Attaching latest complete blood report including latest CBC.

Unusual readings are ESR and globulin.

Also adding few points:

Now I have got 2 lymph nodes again but not more than 2 cm.(cervical)

Dont have fever but sometimes feel fatigue in evening.

I have attached the latest blood check up taken this week.

Globulin and ESR values seems to be bit higher.

Globulin 4.5

ESR 13

Also attaching peripheral smear taken 2 months back.

One more observation is whenever i take cefixim the size of the nodes are reducing.
