Question: I asked some questions 4 days ago and was answered by Dr. Banerjee. I have completed the medication and still have sputum that is yellow in color. My lungs are pretty bad and I use oxygen when needed. Should I call my doctor? Dr. Banerjee told me things my doctor did not and today they don't want to spend too much time on explanation.

Brief Answer:
follow up consultation...

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back Mrs. Dolly,
Dr. Banerjee this side,
Sorry to keep you waiting...

The yellow color of the sputum possibly depicting the underlying infection along with the stagnation of secretions.

Yes, calling your doctor would definitely be the right thing to do as she's the one supervising your daily progress.

However, since it's been 4 days, I'm not sure how the medication course got completed, as typically, the antibiotics course in this kind of respiratory tract infections are given for at least 7-10days (in fact, if you recall our last discussion, the timeframe of 3-5days was specifically mentioned for the generation of the culture reports, after that the further duration was set to be titrated depending upon the reports itself)...

Perhaps, they're too caught up that's why didn't want to spend too much time on explanation. However, please request her a copy of the final report for your reference as well...

Please feel free to discuss further...

Take Care
Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
glad to be of service...

Detailed Answer:
Glad to hear that...

Yes, please do the same, meanwhile, please follow all other advice (avoidance of certain beverages and foods, cold air exposure, hand washing etc.) given earlier, it'll help to reduce the symptoms to some extent...

And if they feel, infections and symptoms are not improving despite this, then a call should be taken to escalate to Intravenous antibiotics as we've already discussed...

Please feel free to keep me posted on your progress...

Take Care
Kind Regards
