I Believe I Have Peripheral Neuropathy And I Have High
Question: I believe I have Peripheral neuropathy and I have high triglycerides 401 to be exact. 3-4 years ago I had sex with a lady that turned out to HIV positive. I wore a condom then I got to thinking maybe it broke or a hole formed and I did not know. So I have tested many times using the Oraquick home HIV mouth swab test and all were negative as far out as 1.5 years. I also had a negative Oraquick Advanced oral swab by a testing site at 1.25 years after the incident and also got a negative.
Should I be concerned that my issue's are HIV related?

Brief Answer:
These are not related to HIV.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome writing in"Ask a Doctor".
I have reviwed your query and here is my advice.
Based on your history, having a risky sexual intercourse I think is a good choice to get tested for HIV.
But, having some negative results of oral swab test even after 1.5 years I think is a good news because these tests are very accurate and conclusive.
So , definitly you are free of HIV.
Furthermore, peripheral neuropathy and elevated triglycerides are not related to HIV in your case but with other causes.
Hope I have answered your query.
