Question: I currently just went to the doctor for a physical; all my blood test results came back normal and healthy. However, my doctor informed me that in the past I was exposed to Hepatitis B, but am now cleared of Hepatitis B. What does this mean and do I need to do an additional testing like an HIV screening?

Brief Answer:
No need for further testing...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

If possible, kindly attach the blood reports so that I will get a better idea.

Usually, 70 to 80% of infected patients who had exposed to hepatitis B infection, cure themselves within 6 to 8 weeks. There is no need for any active management.

As per your history, I think your physician had done relevant blood investigation HBsAg, liver function test and on that basis only he might have said that you don't have any infection at present.

So there is no need for any further investigation.

I would suggest you take the hepatitis B vaccine as per schedule after consultation with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query...
