Brief Answer:
suturing preferable for following reasons.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the depth of the wound is likely to be considerable as
nerve was visible.

In this regards, stitches will help to get following benefits

- faster healing
- avoidance of possible secondary bacterial infection
- precise alignment of the internal and external layers
- cosmetically acceptable recovery

* I quote to visit your family physician for best further interactions in terms of suturing,
tetanus prophylaxis and antibiotics, anti inflammatory medications as per the
consultant decision.

Wish you best recovery.
Regards.
