I Do Not Have Diarrhea But When I Go To

default
Posted on Sun, 11 Aug 2019
Question: I do not have diarrhea but when I go to urinate, and I strain to make the stream harder, I expel liquid out of my anus. I sit down to poop and get more liquid followed immediately by solid stool and lower abdominal discomfort. Is this out of the ordinary? I have not changed diet, vitamins or drinking habits so I am completely confused.

Brief Answer:
Need to consult qualified Urologist

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted leaking of mucus from anus while straining to pass urine is due to increase intra abdominal pressure and relaxation of anal sphincter muscle concomitant with relaxation of urethral sphincter having same nerve innervation .

You need to consult qualified Urologist to establish the cause to need for straining to initiate urination and get following basic tests done to establish diagnosis
1) Clinical and Digital Rectal Examination
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA..

In majority of cases this is due to Bladder Outlet Obstruction due to Enlarged Prostate which is common at this age .

You may need to consult Gastroenterologist to rule out Irritable Bowel syndrome (IBS)

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
