Question: Primary Concern: Mild numbness / altered sensation in the left big toe
     •     Onset: Began 2 days ago, following a long flight and lot of walking
     •     Current Sensation:
     •     Not fully numb, but feels slightly odd or altered
     •     Sensory response is intact — able to feel well when pressing on the toe using a fingernail
     •     No pain, no weakness, no discoloration
     •     No associated lower back pain, but patient have started doing back extension exercises (McKenzie press-ups) as a precaution in case of minor lumbar nerve root involvement.
     •     No symptoms in other parts of the leg or foot

Brief Answer:
could be compression in L5 nerve root.

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
The picture looks fine.
As far as numbness in big toe is concerned , It is quite possible that you may have developed some swelling in L4-5 nerve root at the level of spinal cord during prolonged flight. This can manifest as numbness of big toe.
Take any anti Inflammatory medicine like Diclofenac for a few days and continue with spinal exercises.
If it doesn't Improve in 10 days time , Then me may need investigations.
Thanks for the question. I hope to have answered your query. Please feel free to ask any other query.

Thanks Doctor, Please let me know details on the medicine for how many days should i take it and daily how many times.

Also weird feeling is only on the topside portion on the left big toe. Otherwise nothing is bothering me and am doing my day to day job .. i dont feel any pain in the back.

IS this something of concern ?

Brief Answer:
Needs evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
In this forum we cannot prescribe medicines .
Normally to my patients I would give etoricoxib 90 mg once daily for 10 days.
As I have said earlier , this condition may be transient only. If it persists then we need to examine you clinically and get relevant investigations.
Thanks for the question.
