Question: I fell today and hurt my leg just below my knee on the inside. It's still hurting with ice. Should I be concerned about a blood clot? I was on blood thinners last month for breast cancer surgery. Lovenox for two weeks.

Brief Answer:
Does not look like a DVT

Detailed Answer:
Hi and Welcome to Ask A Doctor service. I have read your question and here is my advice.
Though pain also occurs with blood clot ,, however the important thing woth blood clot is swelling of the whole limb .Without swelling of the limb blood clot is unlikely .
As you have a reason for the pain , ie you hurted it, so it's unlikely to be a clot .The pain is because of the trauma .you can use paracetamol for the pain.
You should see both of your legs , if the one that hurts is swollen then the other , then we should consider a clot otherwise only pain after hitting is common and nothing related to a blood clot.
Hope i have answered your question. Please don't hesitate to ask anything else you need to know. kind Regards Dr Rahman.
