I Flipped A Hotel Light Switch With Slightly Wet Hands.

default
Posted on Thu, 11 Jul 2019
Question: I flipped a hotel light switch with slightly wet hands. I feel fine but I'm usually much more careful. I read that there's a 1% chance of severe electric shock from this though I don't know if that's correct. Should I not worry about it since I feel fine? I didn't feel a shock. Is it important to get a tetanus booster shot now? I think it's been about 6 or 7 years since my last one.

Brief Answer:
No need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After flipping a switch with wet hands, if you have not experienced any shock or tingling or numbness in the fingers or hand then there is no need to worry. The chances of getting a shock like this are very very rare as the switches now a days are insulated itself.
You need not worry.
There is no need of any treatment. You can get a tetanus booster if it is due. It is not harmful and will allay your anxiety.
I hope this answers your query.
