Brief Answer:
Not an emergency, you can wait to see a doctor in few days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

If the blood in stools is bright red, covering the feces most probably it comes from rectum and it is not an emergency but you can wait and see for few days until you see a doctor.
The red blood from rectum can be caused by haemorrhoids, fissures or polyps in anus or recum.
Sometimes after a bowel movement and straining in case if haemorrhoids an enlarged blood vessels can be ruptured. Even in fisures or polyps the passage of stools can make them bleed.
You can wait until you visit a surgeon to examine your recum and anus.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
