Question: I get these weird "attacks" that last about 5 seconds. it feels like a rush and my breathing and or heart feels odd and sometimes I start to sweat. it happens a few times per day. anxiety occurs alongside the feeling. i was tested and had 10 ectopic beats in 24 hours, I have mildly high blood pressure, asthma, mild GERD and mild anxiety. I also had pulmonary embolisms in the recent past that were very small. any idea what this is? nobody seems to know or care....

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are typical of panic attacks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

The symptoms are typical of a severe form of anxiety disorder also called “panic attacks”.

However, other cardiac causes like angina must be ruled out because of similar presentations. You should go for a repeat ECG to rule out cardiac causes.

Once the cardiac or other causes have been ruled out, antianxiety drugs like Clonazepam may be required.

Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.
Do consult a psychiatrist and s/he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks
