I Got Bitten By A Bee And I Applied Benedryl

Question: I got bitten by a bee and I applied Benedryl but it is still itching. I am on oxycodone 10 mg for pain management and want to know if I can take an oral Benedryl what will the side effects be? I was bitten about 5 days ago. It is just one finger on my hand that is red and itchy. Thank You

I can understand your concern...

Well, the side effects could only potentially enhance the after-effects of 'Oxycodone', namely mental alertness, judgment, focus along with some specific activities which you need to refrain from during this time period (i.e. driving, operating any heavy/vibrating types of machinery, if at all do)...

However, since it's already been about 5 days, in my opinion, just take another antiallergic namely LEVOCETIRIZINE 5mg once daily at bedtime, it's primarily non-sedative and devoid of all those side effects compared to Benadryl...

Along with it, apply some cold compression thrice daily, put on soothing Aloe-vera/Calamine lotion over the affected area, it should be getting better with all these...
