I Got My Bloodwork Today And My MCV Was 105high
MCV and MCH are not interpreted on their own
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
I can understand concern re values not in the normal range.
MCV , however, is not interpreted by itself. It is used along with the HB to determine the type of anemia present (if a persons is anemic). For instance if your Hb was low (you were anemic), the high MCV would mean that the anemia would be classified as macrocytic anemia
MCV is used along with Hb, not by itself so the fact that the Hb is good means that there is no need to worry with the MCV
MCH is also not interpreted on its own, it again is used along with the Hb
The alkaline phosphatase, though below the norm, is only slightly so and this change is not considered significant.
Very low alk phos levels can occur in low blood phosphate levels.
Diet changes and activity are needed to help lower the triglycerides
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
no anemia present-Hb is normal
Detailed Answer:
HI
Hb determines if a person has anemia, so with your normal Hb, this is definitely ruled out.
they are only used along with the HB, not used for interpretation unless there is an problem with the Hb
The difference between the normal range should be considered, MCH is only 1 below the normal and MCV 5- with a normal Hb, there is no significance.
Your doctor did not mention these because not associated with any issues
Mild changes are sometimes related to variations in lab technique
