is there any test or way of knowing? would my pap show the genital wart strain of hpv?

I did just look at the history. My husband and i both had them. once in 2010 and then one in 2016 and none since. would the two years still apply now?

Detailed Answer:
hi.
Pap smear shows atypical cell changes which may be due to the hpv virus or may also happen due to other causes as well. So, if the pap smear is normal then most likely you don't have the infection, considering that you last had the infection in 2016. Most genital warts are in fact caused by type 6, 11 hpv which are not carcinogenic so they won't cause any atypical cell changes, anyways. Nevertheless you may take a PCR for HPV DNA from cervical swab to know which HIV type you have, if in case you are still infected.
