Question: I had a partial hysterectomy in 2007, I am 49, and I have been in menopause I think for about three years now. I I just inserted a tube of cream to aide with vaginal dryness and when I removed the applicator there was blood on it. I have wiped twice to have bright red blood show. is this normal .I am also experiencing cramping right at the top of pubic hairline in the middle.

Brief Answer:
Please consult your Gynecologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
What was the reason behind having partial hysterectomy? Are you regular with your smears?

Since you have attained menopause, the vaginal mucosal lining becomes thin. In all probability the tube edge must have caused abrasion of this lining and hence you have noticed bleeding.
But certain other conditions like cervical polyp, vaginal infection, abnormal conditions of cervix etc can also cause such bleeding. Therefore get internal examination done by your gynecologist to confirm that the bleeding was due to abrasion of vaginal mucosal lining.

No I am not regular with yearly exams haven't had one since around 2013 I guess. I haven't seen a dr. Since October 2014. The partial was due to a 13cm fibroid tumor that was sitting on my bladder.out of all females on my mother's side of the family, I am the only one with ovaries.including my duaghter.... my maternal Grandmother died of ovarian cancer. They all have issues with their cycles. The only issue I ever had was the tumor sitting on bladder making me pee constantly.. I will follow up with a dr as soon as possible, I'm in a appeal with my health insurance, and don't yet know when it will be finalized.im just waiting for thg hem to finish up on there and either the paperwork. Thank you for your time.
