I Had A Sudden Onset Of Aching Wrist, Finger Joints,
Question: I had a sudden onset of aching wrist, finger joints, and behind the knees. It came and went for a few days and then got worst. Muscle fatigue and weakness now. Moved to shoulder joint aching. There is visable swelling in my right hand where most of the wrist soreness is.When I take Aleve the condition aching etc lessons substantially.
I feel joint discomfort in the middle of the night and getting up in the mornings is the worst. Hot showers help. Sitting and resting for short periods of time relieves most all of the aching unless I sit too long.Sometimes in the later day or evening it is very difficult to get up out of a chair and to climb stairs. This is now my 6th week of this situation.

Brief Answer:
Looks like inflammatory arthritis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query in "Ask A Doctor",
there is a possibility that this is an inflammatory arthritis.
the causes could be related to psoriasis or since it is short lived it could be viral arthritis.
it needs to be treated with anti inflammatory, like aleve, however if inspite of this there is inflammation and the condition continues then anti rheumatic drugs for arthritis may need to be considered.
till then rest for the joints and local measures like topical nsaids or fomentation may help.
regards.
