Question: I had a tooth extraction today several hours ago. A small came loose in my mouth and is now bleeding again. Will a new clot form ? I'm worried about get a dry socket. Also should I put in a new gauze pad or no ?
Brief Answer:
First place a gauze pad.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for writing to us.
Well, it needs to be made sure that the clot is completely dislodged.
For this the bleeding should completely stop.
So first of all place a sterile gauze and gently bite over it.
Eat cold things like ice cream.
If the bleeding does not stop immediately consult an Emergency room or your Dentist..
If the clot is lost then chances of other forming are less but still a clinical examination is a must to confirm...
Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
