I Had An Episode Of Diverticulitis Two Weeks Ago And

Very likely Urinarty tract infection secondary to diverticulitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As you said that during the last two weeks your hydration was not proper very likely its mild urinary tract infection.Pain in bladder and increase in urge to urinate again suggests that there is mild to moderate inflammation in urinary tract as a result of bacterial infection. Some times a small fistula develops as a result of diverticulitis between the colon and the bladder hence causing the toxic Escherichia coli bacteria's to move to urinary tract which if left untreated may cause severe urinary tract infection.
Recommendation
Get a morning sample of urine tested at laboratory. If pus cells or bacteria's are seen a couse of Nitrfurantoin 100mg twice would be started by your MD.
If you don't want to go for test-
Drink minimum 4 to 5 litres of water daily.Your urine should be crystal clear in color.Your urine pipes are colonisedd by bacteria the more water you would drink faster would they be flushed out
Take any anti inflammatory to reduce inflammation and your urinating urge.
As you are on ciprofloxacin its ok(it covers gram negative bacteria however the concentration in urinary tract is not that high).
Drink cranberry juice.
Take Vitamin C supplement or two oranges a day.
If things starts to worsen up get an ultra sound of abdomen done along with a kidney function and urine test.
Hope you would be fine soon just drink lots and lots of water.
Thank you!
