I Had An Upset Stomach Most Of The Nite. At

Question: I had an upset stomach most of the nite. At 6 AM I strained a bit and had a bowel movement. After that I continued having loose stools all morning. After the second or 3rd I saw bright red, blood tinged mucous in the bowl and some on the stool. Not a lot, just like small strings. I have internal and external hemorrhoids and diverticulous. I do not think it was from them. My hemorrhoid bled a tiny tiny bit when I wiped. I had a colonoscopy in XXXXXXX 2018 and it was compleyely normal. I had
XXXXXXX yesterday and chili ...the only unusual things for me. I am 69 and a woman. I googled this and naturally it gave me scary scenarios. Do u think this blood tinged mucous is serious or a result of a stomach bug?
Brief Answer:
Hello dear. It looks more of an infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through your query and it looks more of an infection as it was accompanied by loose stool with mucus. You should consult a physician and a short course of antibiotics will help you.
However, if blood in stool persists after a couple of days, then a rectal examination is warranted.
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
Hello. Blood and mucus can be there in infection of gut
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. So it is common to have blood and mucus during gut infections. As you had a normal colonoscopy, there are very little chances (practically nil) that it is due to cancer of colon. So no need to worry.
Thanks and regards

Thank you. One last question....do you think I need another colonoscopy? Or any kind of test? I am just stressed about this. I appreciate your help. I hate being so worried and googling in the internet has made me scared.
