I Had Colonoscopy At Age 52 And Again At Age61...no

Question: I had colonoscopy at age 52 and again at age61...no findings other than heimmeroids and divirticulitis. But I have had RUQ intermittent pains for 2 months...clear MRI of Abdomen and negative ultrasound all okay. I have seen a mild amount of blood in one part of the stool a couple of times and a bit when wiping. Not every bowel movement is there blood, a couple of times. Im getting a endoscopy and colonoscopy on Tuesday. Whats the likelihood of colon cancer given above information. I have also had IBS for 30 years

* As per my surgical experience, the narrated symptoms of RUQ intermittent pain with
wiping of occasional blood in stool do not favor possible colon cancer in most of the
cases particularly with history of hemorrhoids.

1. Any noticeable changes in bowel habits apart from occasional staining of blood ?
2. Recent weight loss, loss of appetite ?
3. Family history of cancer if any ?
4. Previous colon biopsy status if known to you ?

* Chronic IBS does not necessarily pose everyone to cancer risk, there are multiple
factors come into consideration as body immune mechanics and others.

* Father`s lung cancer also sound not much relevant for hereditary patterns of colon
cancer for you.

However, it is advisable to discuss the need of colon biopsy once you visit for your colonoscopy to your gastro specialist.

* Till that time, maintain healthy life style, regular exercises, balanced nutritious diet
with high fiber and plenty of liquids.
Refrain smoking if involved.

No change in bowel habits and no
Weight loss or loss of appetite IBS for over 30 years coming and going don’t think my colon was ever biopsed did note heimroids and diviriticulosis from previous colonoscopies my dad got lung cancer at 52 and died at 55. He was also at Bikini Atol and exposed to significant radiation from A bomb thanks I have been majorly stressed lately
