I Had Covid Last Month And Got A Repeat CXR

IMPRESSION:
1. Pulmonary findings are unchanged compared to prior examination.
No acute findings.
2. No central venous catheter is visualized.
3. New, curvilinear radiopaque density overlying T12-L1. Recommend
clinical correlation for foreign body versus curvilinear likely
metallic density overlying the mid upper abdomen at T12-L1.
The number 3 part seems interesting. I don’t know why they didn’t mention it. What could that mean?
Please share the xray image to know if it can be outside your body
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for writing in to us.
Hope you are feeling good.
The point 1 shows no change in lung findings. The changes in COVID can take long time to resolve and there is literature showing persisting lung fibrosis changes. We need more time to learn how long the lung changes might persist.
The point 2 as you are aware is about the central venous catheter not being in the xray.
The point 3 is about a likely abnormal line in the central part of the abdomen. The xray needs to be visualised to get a better idea. It can be something in your clothes or the xray table should it be out side your body as it was not mentioned in any previous xray. I tell this because there is metallic density given in the report and I think you do not have any history of metallic implants.
