I Had Girlfriend Two Years Ago, She Was On Contraceptive

Question: I had girlfriend two years ago, she was on contraceptive so we didn't use protection. After few months we broke up. Exactly after four month I broke up with her I got shingles. I went to a doctor, he gave me a cream and I didn't bother about it that time. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with a type 1 diabetes. They tested my blood and urine samples. After I came home I was checking internet and found out shingles is a symptom of hiv. I didn't got any other symptoms like fever sore throat or swollen lymph nodes. My question is if I had viral infection like hiv, should it shown in blood and urine test done at hospital? Or not. The hospital would have informed me right? I am really freaking me out. Please kindly help

Brief Answer:
Do a 4th generation HIV test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

Shingles is not a sexually transmitted disease and can't be transmitted with intercourse.
Shingles is caused by varicella zoster virus the same virus which causes the chickenpox when you were a kid. The virus stays dormant in nerves and may burst time to time not to everyone.
You have probably been informed wrong because shingles us not a symptom of HIV. They are completely different infections, diseases.

HIV doesn't show in total blood count, biochemical blood balance or urine tests that you normally do in hospital or when you test for diabetes.
To get tested for HIV you should do a 4 th generation test . Or you better do STD test to check for the rest of diseases.
