Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
I have gone through the query thoroughly and understood your problem. I will try my best to help you with this.
1. The symptoms described by you seems to be related to a condition called Persistent Postural Perceptual Vertigo. Even though it mimics the Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), the dizziness doesn’t get fatigued with repeated movements of the head.
2. This is a condition, wherein, there is spatial disorientation due to abnormal relay of the signals to and from the brain.
3. Usually, this happens due to a sudden injury to the inner ear or other neurological structures of the brain or spinal cord combined with the anxiety.
4. This condition demands a thorough examination by an apt neurologist or a neuro-otologist.
5. Once your diagnosis is confirmed you would require vestibular rehabilitation exercises to readapt the system to the normal function by reducing the anxiety and self-monitoring. Therefore, habituating the individual to the provoking factors, and promoting automatic movement control until the complete recovery is achieved.
6. Controlled medications such as SNRI, serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors; SSRI, selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors can help in alleviating your issues. These medicines are prescribed by the neurologist on conforming the diagnosis.
Hope this answers your query; I will be available for the follow up queries.
