default
Posted on Sun, 4 Aug 2019
Question: I had knee replacement surgery a month. My foot on that leg is still swollen and painful.and numb. My foot is also twisted and no longer straight . Besides the pain it is making my recovery from surgery more difficult.
Is this common or do I need to see a doctor? If so is it the surgeon or my primary care?

Brief Answer:
Possible dislocation, visit orthopaedic surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

O think that pain and swelling is common after knee replacement surgery after a month but it comes down gradually and being twisted is not much common. I can suspect that the joint may be dislocated.
I can recommend you to see a doctor and it would be the orthopaedic surgeon who did the replacement.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
