I Had My Back Molar Removed Due To Resorption Last

Question: I had my back molar removed due to resorption last month.. I will replace it with an implant as soon as it heals. I had a bone graft to replace lost bone due to the resorption.. one root was almost completely gone.. my question is .. the site of my tooth removal is still sensitive to the touch.. I went to the oral surgeon and he said since I am 62 it is taking longer to heal especially near the cut was to get the tooth out.. is this normal to still be sore after a month? Should I get another opinion.. thanks! The incision site does not look red but the doc said it is still a little inflamed but not infected.. I can feel the bone graft material will that fill in eventually? It is like a crater..what can I do to speed the healing? Will it be ready for an implant in a few months?

Brief Answer:
Healing takes 3-4 weeks, after 3 months, place implants

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the sensitivity at the site if incision will stay for 3-4 weeks. Nothing to be panic. After placement of the graft, you need to wait for minimum 3 months for the socket to heal. Then only you can go for placement of implants.
I hope I have answered your query. if you have any queries, reply me back. Take care

It just feels like the hole where the tooth was removed has not healed up.. like the sides are not coming together.. like an open crater.. will that eventually close up? Do I continue my salt rinses or alcohol free mouthwashes? Thanks so much!

Brief Answer:
It takes time, salt water gargling

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply.
The socket will heal in span of 4-5 weeks. nothing to worry about that depression near the extracted tooth site. Its normal. That opening will close gradually.
You can continue with warm salt water gargling.
I hope I have answered your query. Take care.
